Biome Research Journal Entries

Research Journal Entries

Today's Goal: Write your first and second journal entry about your biome.

Here is what each journal entry will be about:

Journal Entry 1: Biotic Factors (plants and animals) and
Journal Entry 2: Abiotic Factors (weather, what does it look like)
Journal Entry 2: Predators and Prey
Journal Entry 4: Fun facts about your biome

Rubric for Journal Entry #1.  When I grade your journal this is what I will use.  All of you should try and get a 4 for each category.  Make sure you READ what should be in each category!!

Geometric Solids

Hi all!  Today we worked on making some geometric solids with Silly Putty!  Overall everyone did a great job, but there were a few girls who really impressed the teachers!!  Camila Tigre, Ada, and Bruna win the prize for most accurate 3-D solids!

We made cylinders, cones, pyramids, rectangular solids, cubes, spheres and others!

Beginning of the Year

Hi all:

Luciana and I are happy to have all of our students in class.  Everyone seems to be back from the vacation period and filled up with energy to start our learning process this year.

We are starting with a unit on Explorers, focusing on the great voyages that have been made in human history.  Along the way, we'll be researching the biomes through which those explorers made their way.

We will be writing a lot more this year than we have been in the past, so we suggest that you students find a nice, quiet spot to write when you need to do so.  You are going to be the best writers to ever come out of ABA Global School!!!

We are so excited to get to know each other even better every year.
